About us.
Area 51 radio station is exciting because it is the first radio station for fans of SCI-FI and comics. Our aim is to bring you interesting and varied sci fi features on our radio station.
A brief history of Area 51 Radio Station
-
Doctor Phlox (John Billings) from Star Trek Enterprise launched Area 51 Radio Station on 15th October 2005. The weekend afterwards we broadcast live to more than 30,000 people at the London Expo and to our listeners in their homes live from the London Excel. Our technical people made it happen, our presenters made the broadcast thrilling. This is one of the ways in which we continue to build up our audience.
-
Over the weekend of 12th and 13th May 2007 we broadcast live from the Bristol International Comic Expo and interviewed many of the stars of the event and archived these on site for our listeners to enjoy after the event. This also acts as a great showcase for the Bristol International Comic Expo, the benefit is that our listeners are being reminded of how good their events are and will therefore be pursued to go to the companies future events.
- On our radio shows we aim to talk sci fi or comics and let our vibrant presenters bring our listeners fun to make their day more exciting.
- We broadcast exclusive interviews with stars of sci fi and people in this genre. And unlike our rivals in print you will hear the voices of the stars. Better surely then only seeing their words as black print on paper.
- We aim to harness all available technology to bring you great sci-fi. Here are two exciting instances of this. We have a special web site that has been designed for mobile phone users. Which means you can hear Area 51 Radio Station when you're on the move.
- We have used the technology and our teams extensive abilities to broadcast live from sci-fi shows and conventions.
